Job Descriptions

Education: • Graduate from a recognized university (preferably within the field of Social Science, environmental and solid waste management, engineering etc); Experience: • Must have at least two years of relevant experience in the field of solid waste management and other related environmental initiatives. • At least one year of experience in working with and / or managing volunteers (from any nationality) is preferable. • Experience in working with refugees in a camp setting. Key Attributes: • Ability to spend extended periods of work with community members. • Experience in mitigating conflicts and disputes between members of a community and community leaders • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; • Experience of Cash for Work/ Incentive based volunteers programming • Ability to collect, enter and analyses data; • Good written and spoken English and Arabic is essential; • Good coordination skills; and strong commitment to gender equality and social justice; • Proven knowledge of computerized systems, a high degree of computer literacy, especially word processing and excel spreadsheet skills • Potential and flexibility of attitude to learn; • Able to work under pressure, ability to priorities and commitment to meet deadlines • The post holder should be at ease in working with local communities and Syrian refugees. • Sympathy with the aims and objectives of Oxfam. • Commitment to humanitarian principles and action and to Oxfam s equal opportunity and gender policies Desirables: • Experience of working in a multicultural team; • Ability and experience to train people • Experience or willingness to work with refugees in a camp setting Organizational Values: • Accountability Our purpose-driven, results-focused approach means we take responsibility for our actions and hold ourselves accountable.
