Transport students to and from school as well as to and from special events such as field trips. School bus drivers are responsible for keeping to a specific route schedule and ensuring passenger safety during transit.
Responsibilities include:
1. Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety.
2. Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops.
3. Regularly checking vehicle safety such as tires, brakes, turn signals, mechanical equipment, etc.
4. Monitoring and reporting fuel consumption, mileage, and passenger numbers.
5. Reporting delays, accidents, and emergencies.
6. Responding to emergency and non-emergency situations.
7. Inspecting the vehicle thoroughly before and after each trip.
8. Assisting with the loading and unloading of the bus when required.
9. Enforcing conduct and safety rules on the bus.
10. Maintaining a clean vehicle.
Requirements are:
High school diploma/GED preferred.
CDL license required.
Passenger and school bus endorsement required
